Man caught on CCTV cutting open convertible Porsche in Mayfair

A would-be thief has been caught on camera cutting open the roof of a convertible Porsche and trying to drive it away.

The man can be seen slicing a hole in the top of the sports car, which was parked on a road in Mayfair, London, at 07:45 GMT on 29 September.

He then climbs inside, setting off the alarm, as tries to drive it away.

Police said the man later climbed back out of the hole he had cut, jumped onto the boot and wandered off down the road.

Around 20 minutes later someone tried to force their way into another Porsche parked in the same area, according to the Met.
