Six Tower Hamlets independent Muslim schools 'inadequate'

Schools inspectors say they are "concerned" about the education being given at six Muslim independent schools in the London borough of Tower Hamlets.

Ofsted criticised lessons as too narrowly focused on Islam and feared that pupils could be exposed to extremist views. The education secretary, Nicky Morgan, has told the schools to take urgent action, or risk being shut down.

BBC London's education reporter, Marc Ashdown, spoke to Fiyaz Mughal the founder of Faith Matters and Alex Kenny from the National Union of Teachers.
