London's Olympic Park cycle paths branded 'embarrassing'

It is home to a world class cycling centre but facilities in and around London's Olympic Park have been described as a "world class embarrassment" by cycling campaigners.

Cyclists have to negotiate three flights of stairs on one of the main routes into the park and cycle around trees on the cycle paths.

The mayor's cycling commissioner Andrew Gilligan said he was looking at ways to adapt the plans to make the park as cycling friendly as possible before it opens in April.

BBC London transport correspondent Tom Edwards spoke to Tom Bogdanowicz from the London Cycling Campaign.
