Nelson Mandela death: London remembers
Nelson Mandela was no stranger to London.
Back in 1962 he toured the capital trying to drum up support for his anti-apartheid cause. And just weeks after his release from prison in 1990 he returned to the city to thank the world for their campaigns for his release.
Mandela also met the parents of the murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence and visited Brixton in south London on another trip.
BBC London's Kurt Barling spoke to Lord Healey, community activist Ros Griffiths, Paul Reid from the Black Cultural Archives, Labour MP Chuka Umunna and London mayor Boris Johnson.
