Euston statue for Australia explorer Matthew Flinders

A sculpture could be erected of an explorer credited with being the first person to circumnavigate - and name - Australia about 200 years ago.

A life-size bronze statue of Captain Matthew Flinders could be erected outside Euston Station, where he is rumoured to be buried.

Rebekah Higgitt, from the National Maritime Museum, explains why he is sometimes known as a "forgotten hero" while sculptor Mark Richards says he is proud to introduce a figure, who is of such importance to Australians, to people in the UK.
