Former monastery The Charterhouse to open to public

A former monastery in London that provided sanctuary to historical figures including Oliver Cromwell and James I is to open its doors to the public for the first time in its 650-year history.

The Charterhouse, in Farringdon, has received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund which it hopes to use to create an exhibition which will open in 2015.
