London Councils: 'Huge shortfall' in adult care cash

A think tank and lobbying group has warned there will be a huge shortfall in paying for adult social care over the next five years.

London Councils claims that an increased demand for spending due to an ageing population and huge budget cuts across the capital will lead to a £907m gap by 2018.

However the Department of Health has promised an additional £300m to be spent across the country over the next two years.

Karl Mercer spoke to Doris Wiles, 90, Joe Coogan from Havering Council, and Ravi Govindia, London Councils' executive member for adult services.
