Met Police riot unit's use of force criticised

The Metropolitan Police's unit of specially trained riot officers has been criticised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission for using excessive force.

The police watchdog reviewed complaints made against the Territorial Support Group.

It said that while there had been a decline in complaints against its officers since 2009, more restraint was needed.

Solicitor Andre Clovist and Met Police Commander Dave Martin speak on the issue.
