'Horrendous' scale of cavity wall insulation problems

Thousands of homes in the North West of England are having cavity wall insulation removed at the cost of millions of pounds because residents claim it has led to damp, mould and condensation .

Extraction expert Damian Mercer said there are currently 1,200 homes in the region where it has not been fitted correctly and needs to be taken out.

He said the scale of the problem was "horrendous".
