Former homeless woman talks in Parliament about Preston charity

A former prisoner who has experienced life on the streets is to talk to MPs about what can be done to help prevent inmates from becoming homeless upon their release.

Karen Wallis said she used to sleep in doorways on Southport promenade before a charity in Preston helped her turn her life around.

She is talking to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Ending Homelessness inquiry session about the impact Emmaus Preston - where she now works - had on her life.
