Debts and demand: A day at the Royal Blackburn Hospital

While the total debts of Lancashire's NHS hospitals nearly doubled in the last financial year, according to BBC research, a hospital in the county said it was struggling to cope with patient demand.

BBC North West Tonight's Dave Guest spent the day at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, in Blackburn where in May, June and July it had some of their busiest weeks in its history and an ambulance arrives at the hospital every nine minutes a day on average a day.
