Biggest charity shop opens doors in Preston

The biggest charity shop in the country has opened in Preston.

It has taken two months to fill the 40,000 sq ft store with furniture, household goods and clothes, which will be sold to raise money for the charity Emmaus.

All the staff were once homeless but are now learning new skills.

Director Steve Buchanan said the shop's status as the largest had been verified by the Charity Retail Association, which keeps records of all retail sites used by charitable organisations.
