Medway obesity summit to help tackle weight
An "obesity summit" has been called by Medway Council and its school, hospital and sports club partners to try to tackle one of the highest obesity rates in England.
Nearly a third of adults in Medway are severely overweight, making it the second worst area in England for obesity.
Members of Medway Council have called for a ban on fast food takeaways opening near schools after it was found that one in 10 children in the area are obese by the age of five.
Ellie Price, BBC South East Today's political reporter, spoke to people including Conservative David Brake, the councillor responsible for adult services, and Tam Fry, from the National Obesity Forum.
