Claire Tiltman murder: CPS considers bringing charges

The Crown Prosecution Service is considering bringing charges over the murder of Kent schoolgirl Claire Tiltman 21 years ago, the BBC has learned.

She was stabbed more than 40 times in an alleyway in Greenhithe, four days after her 16th birthday.

It is understood the file relates to Colin Ash-Smith, a suspect whose home was searched three times.

BBC South East Today's Rebecca Williams spoke to the former commander of Kent Police, Ken Tappenden, and Councillor David Mote, from Dartford Borough Council.
