Martin Shannon arrested after stealing cache of weapons

Surveillance video has been released which shows the moment a marine reservist was swooped on by undercover police after stockpiling stolen guns and ammunition to sell on the black market.

Over a number of years, Martin Shannon, 43, from Hythe, near Southampton, used his training to steal the weapons.

He was caught after selling ammunition, grenades and other munitions to an undercover officer for £5,000. He was jailed for 14 and a half years.

The footage shows officers arresting Shannon as he left a Tesco supermarket in Winchester.
