Basingstoke lorry driver completes Atlantic rowing challenge

A lorry driver who took on a two-man row of the Atlantic for charity has completed his 3,000-mile trip.

Andy Warner, from Basingstoke, set off on The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge with police officer Sean McGuigan in December.

After battling 40ft waves, technical failures and surviving off basic rations, the duo finally arrived at the Caribbean island of Antigua on Wednesday after 72 days.

They described the journey from La Gomera, in Spain, as "emotional" but "rewarding".
