Work begins in Portsmouth on Royal Navy's aircraft carrier

As work begins in Portsmouth on the second of the Royal Navy's new aircraft carriers, The Prince of Wales, the shipyard's owners say no decisions have been made over the future of its staff in the city.

The two ships survived the government's defence review and are costing about £6bn.

Portsmouth's share of the work is helping to sustain up to 1,500 jobs in the city.
