South Dorset MP calls for fairer funding for police forces
South Dorset MP Richard Drax has called for a fairer share of funding for the county's police force during a debate in Westminster.
Police forces in other parts of the country receive about 70% of their funding from central government and 30% from council tax.
Dorset Police receives about 54% of its funding from the government and 46% from council tax.
The Home Office has said it will review the way it calculates funding for police forces.
