Snowfall causes disruption throughout Dorset

Heavy snow fell in Dorset into Friday morning causing treacherous conditions for motorists with roads and closing schools.

Businesses were closed, people were urged to avoid non-essential travel and South West Trains introduced revised routes.

However Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, made famous by the 1970s Hovis bread advert, was turned into an impromptu sledging and snowboarding track.
