Mother welcomes arson attack murder verdicts

The mother of a 17-year-old girl who was killed in a revenge arson attack said she was pleased three men had been found guilty of murder.

Melanie Hawkins lost her daughter Amy Smith and baby granddaughter Ruby-Grace in the fire in Langley Mill, Derbyshire.

A 17-year-old boy, Edward Green, also died in the fire in June.

Ms Hawkins said: "The verdict has come back as guilty of murder, which we are all pleased with, but no verdict or sentence is going to make what happened that morning any easier for us to live with."
