Will Blanche attempts mountain challenge on hand bike

A disabled man took on three of the UK's highest mountains in a specially adapted hand-bike.

An emotional Will Blanche, of Sandiacre, Derbyshire, attempted to summit Ben Nevis, Skiddaw and Snowdon to raise money for the Jessica Hope Foundation in memory of a friend who died from brain cancer.

The ascent of Ben Nevis had to abandoned because of the weather but Mr Blanche, who has spina bifida, powered to the tops of the other two.

A disabled man is recovering from the challenge of a lifetime after taking on 3 of Britain's highest mountains, using a specially-adapted hand-bike. Will Blanche from Sandiacre in Derbyshire has spina bifida and set himself the task of completing the 3 Peaks challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Skiddaw and Snowdon - something which has never been attempted by this means before.
