Injured ex-soldier Ben Zissman up for bravery award

A former soldier from Derbyshire has been nominated for an award for injured servicemen who overcome adversity.

Ben Zissman, from Walton on Trent, was left paralysed from the waist down after being hit by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan four years ago.

He has been training to become a school teacher and is hoping to compete in the next Paralympic Games.

In April, Mr Zissman will find out if he has won the national injured veterans' award for courage.
