Royal Derby Hospital pioneers kidney alert system

A system pioneered in Derby, which helps to identify a potentially fatal kidney condition, is to be used by hospitals across the country.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is preventable, but kills up to one in every four sufferers.

An electronic alert system used at the Royal Derby Hospital has significantly reduced cases, by analysing blood test results.
