Help for children of lost soldiers

Young people who have lost parents serving in the armed forces are taking part in an adventure week in Cumbria.

The 25 youngsters, all aged between nine and 18, are taking part in a series of courses at the Howtown outdoor centre, near Penrith, organised by the Force's Children's Trust.

Some of those taking part have recently lost parents serving in Afghanistan.

Founder Denny Wise, said he hoped the group, some of whom have suffered bullying at the hands of other children, would go away with more confidence and be better able to cope with their loss.
