£32.5m Lottery winners eye up Spitfire flight

A couple who waited a week to claim a £32.5m National Lottery win say they will spend some of the money on a holiday to New Zealand and a flight in a Spitfire.

Gerry Cannings, 63, and Lisa Cannings, 48, from Peterborough, won the jackpot in a draw on 13 February, but waited to claim it because they were having their house decorated.

"It did mean that Gerry had to carry round the winning ticket in his wallet all week," said Mrs Cannings. "It was very nerve-wracking."

Retired teacher Mr Cannings bought the ticket while collecting fish and chips during a visit to see his father in Slough.
