Pensioner May Overson thought she 'would die' in Peterborough car park attack

A pensioner who was mugged in a city centre car park has told how she thought she "would die" in the attack.

Cambridgeshire Police have released CCTV footage of May Overson as she was knocked to the ground and robbed in Peterborough at 22:30 GMT on 30 December.

Mrs Overson, 74, had her handbag stolen in the car park of the Conservative Club in Broadway.

"It felt as though I was going to die because when my head hit the ground I had a black-out," she said.
