The family of a South African woman fight against her deportation

The daughter of a South African woman has been speaking on the Victoria Derbyshire programme about her plans to fight her mother's deportation.

The family, from Bristol, handed in a petition to Downing Street on Friday to stop Irene Nel from being sent back to South Africa.

She arrived in the UK on a tourist visa in 2012 but fell ill and was later diagnosed with kidney failure.

She's been receiving treatment on the NHS for three and a half years.

Her daughter, Desree Roberts, explained why her mother deserved to stay.
