The driving competition where slow and steady wins the race

Specialist drivers taking part in the MPG marathon are pushing their cars to the very limit.

But this annual competition, isn't about speed, it's about driving as efficiently as possible to make the fuel last as long as they can.

The route is held on public roads beginning in Meriden, Solihull.

The current record is 109 miles to the gallon in a diesel car.
