Victims of emotional abuse talk about their experiences

Victims of psychological and emotional abuse within relationships have been speaking about their experiences.

Research by BBC South has shown that in the year following new legislation, there were 374 reported cases of controlling or coercive behaviour in the South of England, leading to only five convictions.

Victims have spoken about the struggle they have had to gather evidence and their worry that their concerns were not taken seriously enough.
