Southern rail talks with RMT union fail to secure deal

Southern rail commuters will face more disruption after last-ditch peace talks failed to avert next week's strike action.

Leaders of the RMT union met company officials to try to resolve a long-running dispute over the role of conductors.

Angie Doll, passenger services director at Southern, said the breakdown of talks was "very disappointing".
