In praise of Yorkshire

The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks have been extended by 188 square miles, with campaigners hailing a "historic day".

Yorkshire Day is also being celebrated on 1 August, marking 1,141 years since Yorkshire was established.

For Radio 4's PM programme Barrie Rutter, art director and founder of the Northern Broadsides theatre company, gives his praise for the area nicknamed "God's Own County".
