The Britishness of pantomime: Cinderella in 1926

Pantomime is ingrained in the British cultural psyche, and was popularised in Victorian times.

This archive footage from British Pathe shows that even back in 1926 it was entirely normal for a woman dressed as a man to woo a maiden on stage.
