Police: Dealing with historical care home abuse 'difficult process'

The head of public protection at Nottinghamshire police has said dealing with the historical care home abuse allegations is a "difficult process".

It comes after a social worker claimed police failed to properly investigate allegations of sexual abuse in Nottinghamshire children's homes.

Superintendent Helen Chamberlain told the BBC "we're working with our partners and health colleagues to support victims through this".

The inquiry is looking into 13 institutions over a 40 year period.
