Travel disrupted in South East as storm hits

Two P&O ferries carrying more than 400 people were forced to anchor offshore as the Port of Dover closed for two hours because of high winds.

Across Kent, Surrey and Sussex, commuters had to wait until train lines were cleared before services could run again and get them to work.

Southeastern's spokeswoman Sarah Boundy said passengers were advised to check before travelling.
