Shallow grave victim's family pain

The family of a woman who was killed by her boyfriend and buried in a shallow grave on moorland have spoken of their pain and heartache.

Adrian Muir, 51, was convicted on Friday of the manslaughter of Pamela Jackson, 55, from Chester-le-Street, County Durham, but cleared of her murder.

The grandmother's body was found in May on the moors above Halifax, two months after she went missing from her home.

Speaking after Muir was sentenced to 18 years, family members said he had given them a "life sentence".

Muir, from Halifax, fractured Ms Jackson's skull during a row before driving 120 miles to dump her body. Read More: Moorland shallow grave killer jailed
