South East councils' spending on away-days revealed

Councils in the South East are spending money on away-days, glossy magazines and translating documents, against government advice, a BBC investigation has found.

Kent County Council, Medway Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council have all been spending money on items which now break guidelines set out in a government document entitled 50 Ways to Save.

BBC South East's John Young has been investigating councils' spending.
