Oxford baby tube feeding scheme extended

A project developed in Oxford to allow premature babies to go home earlier has been extended.

Some babies born early have problems sucking or swallowing but now, if they are well enough, their parents can be taught how to use a feeding tube to allow them to go home early.

It meant Kate Lynch-Blosse from Denchworth near Wantage could bring her new daughter Poppy home a week early.

The project has been so successful it has been extended to the Horton Hospital in Banbury and Dr Eleri Adams expects the service will be rolled out across the South Central region.
