'I was strip searched and left naked by police'

Police have apologised to a woman for their handling of an investigation which left her naked in a cell after being forcibly strip searched by five officers.

The whole distressing incident, which happened four years ago, was broadcast live by a camera connected to the custody suite.

The woman, who we are calling 'Sarah', has already been awarded £37,000 in damages by the Metropolitan Police.

She spoke to Victoria Derbyshire programme presenter Joanna Gosling in her first interview, which contains conversations viewers may find upsetting.
