Young offender institutions: What is life like for inmates?

Levels of violence in young offender institutions have been described as unacceptably high, with inmates and staff facing the daily threat of beatings and stabbings.

MPs have warned that prisons for young offenders have become dangerous, with suicides, and serious assaults.

Noel Philips looks at what life is like for the young people who get locked up.
