Front-line police being 'tucked away' from communities

A report has warned that neighbourhood policing in parts of England and Wales is at risk because officers are having to carry out other duties away from their local communities.

HM Inspectorate of Constabulary says in some cases, front-line teams are spending as little as half their time on the beat.
