Pastor James McConnell hangs up during radio interview

Evangelical Christian preacher Pastor James McConnell, who has been found not guilty of making "grossly offensive" remarks about Islam, hung up on 5 live presenter Peter Allen during a discussion about religious beliefs.

Peter Allen suggested the pastor shouldn't "condemn a religion because of the excesses of some members". Pastor McConnell said "I'm away, bye bye", and hung up the phone.

The 78-year-old was cleared of all charges at Belfast Magistrates' court relating to a sermon he gave in a Belfast church in 2014.
