Aids crisis: Thatcher overruled on ad campaign, archives show

Margaret Thatcher was effectively overruled by her Cabinet over the handling of the Aids crisis in 1986, newly-released government documents show.

The then-Prime Minister was forced to relent on the wording of advertisements after ministers repeatedly ignored her fears over explicit language.
