Weight-loss surgery significantly reduces heart disease

Weight-loss surgery could prevent thousands of deaths and reduce the risk of developing heart disease, according to the largest study of bariatric surgery.

It is the largest comprehensive investigation of bariatric surgery, spanning around four years in nearly 8,000 patients.

The findings by British scientists say cases of type 2 diabetes and heart attacks were also significantly reduced.
