Review of police use of guns ordered by David Cameron

A review of the use of guns by police has been ordered by the prime minister, following November's attacks in Paris.

It will examine whether the law gives enough support to officers making a "split-second" decision to shoot.

The head of the Metropolitan Police is concerned that firearms officers do not have the necessary legal or political backing to work with confidence.
