Fire Brigades Union: PCC control of fire service plans 'half-baked'

The Fire Brigades Union has criticised plans to allow fire and rescue services in England to be overseen by police and crime commissioners as "half-baked".

General Secretary Matt Wrack told BBC Breakfast that there was "very little evidence, no research carried out" and no support from firefighters, police or communities.

Ministers argue the plans, which are due to come into effect in 2016, would save money.
