Devastation of Buncefield blast 10 years on

The explosion at the Buncefield oil depot in 2005 was the largest explosion ever in Europe during peacetime.

It occurred after safeguards failed and as a result a fuel tank overflowed.

The ensuing fire raged for three days.

No one was killed or seriously injured but the damage was severe.
