Syria air strikes: RAF jets target Islamic State in second wave of strikes

British jets have conducted a second set of air strikes against so-called Islamic State in Syria since ministers voted in favour of the action on Wednesday.

The Omar oil fields were targeted for the second time, using two Tornados and, for the first time, two Typhoons.

The Ministry of Defence also released the first pictures of the bombing missions from the cockpits of RAF planes as Defence Secretary Michael Fallon visited their base in Cyprus.

Defence correspondent Jonathan Beale reports from RAF Akrotiri.
