EU referendum vote 'will not be on 5 May'

The referendum on whether or not the UK should remain in the European Union will not take place on May the 5th next year, according to the government.

There had been suggestions that the date was favoured by some Downing Street advisors.

But it is the same day as elections to the Scottish Parliament and Welsh and Northern Irish Assemblies.

Robin Brant reports.
