Syria girls: First missing London schoolgirl named as Sharmeena Begum

A London schoolgirl who is thought to have left the UK in December to join Islamic State militants has been named as 15-year-old Sharmeena Begum.

Sharmeena's father, Mohammad Uddin, told the Daily Mail he had warned teachers at Bethnal Green Academy to keep an eye on three of her friends, who have since gone missing.

Amira Abase, 15, Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, who disappeared in February, are believed to have joined Sharmeena in Syria.
