'Huge' killer seagull picks off Hyde Park pigeons

A seagull has been attacking a group of pigeons in London's Hyde Park, dragging the weakest of the flock into the Serpentine lake, drowning it and eating it.

Blogger Ralph Hancock, who has been observing the seagull for the past five years, said he was "surprised" by the bird's success.

He told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive: "Gulls aren't hawks after all, they aren't real predators. To catch something as large as a pigeon is quite difficult."
